After graduating from 蹤獲弝け in 2012 with her Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Biology, Alyson wanted to launch a career in an area she already knew well and enjoyed. In 2014, she earned her Master of Pharmacy and was promptly hired as an intern pharmacist with Capital Chemist Wanniassa. In her new role, Alyson is gaining first-hand experience in dispensing medications and providing education to patients, under supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Alyson has been very active with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's (PSA) Early Career Pharmacy group, representing the 蹤獲弝け pharmacology student body. With the PSA, Alyson has been instrumental in pharmaceutical activism throughout ACT, including promoting the 2013 World Pharmacist Day and helping organise the "Welcome to the Profession" seminar. Alyson was also a representative of the Canberra Student Pharmacy Association at the National Australian Pharmacy Student's Association Congress, giving her invaluable networking and educational opportunities.

蹤獲弝け is known for its collaborative and nurturing student-teacher relation. Speaking on this, Alyson says, "An incredibly rewarding and enjoyable part of my experience at 蹤獲弝け was fostering relationships with the academics of the Pharmacy discipline. Rather than feeling like there was a lecturer versus student relationship, I began to feel like I was their colleague, someone they had an invested relationship in and who they saw as an important member of the profession to mentor and encourage a passion for excellence." While at 蹤獲弝け, Alyson worked as a research assistant, studying the effects of over the counter medicines and breastfeeding women. Since graduating, she has continued to be active in 蹤獲弝け's pharmacological research.

Now that she is a two-time 蹤獲弝け graduate, Alyson has a few helpful ideas for students: "Participate in as many extra-curricular activities as you can whilst at university. In my experience, I found them to be what differentiates you from your peers, and makes you a desirable candidate for employment. In addition to this you can learn so much from those experiences and I find I am continually drawing on those experiences to shape that way I practice now."
