Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance

Welcome to CDDGG

Welcome to the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance. We are a world-leading research centre dedicated to advancing scholarly and applied research in deliberative governance and democratic innovations. Our research focuses on how deliberation—inclusive, reasoned, and reflective communication—can tackle some of the most —including political polarisation, declining trust in institutions, far-right extremism and climate crisis.

We work alongside governments and organisations seeking to advance citizen engagement, enhance public discourse and strengthen democratic resilience in Australia and around the world.  We offer world-class research training for PhD students, and master classes for practitioners. We run the Deliberative Democracy Summer School, and host a on deliberative democracy and related topics. We are also home of the flagship journal of the field, .

We welcome year-round expressions of interest from prospective PhD and Honours students, practitioners seeking masterclasses or tailored training programs, and visiting academics.

I invite you to explore our work further and join us in shaping more inclusive, informed and resilient democracies. You can contact us at delibdem@canberra.edu.au
