10 March 2020: ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capitals fans will have the chance to celebrate their 2019/2020 WNBL Championship heroes at a reception at the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ on Tuesday 10 March.
The ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capitals claimed a ninth WNBL championship after beating the Southside Flyers 71-68 in a nail-biting finish at a packed AIS Arena earlier this week.
The reception to celebrate the victorious squad will be held in the Refectory where fans will have the opportunity to meet the players, view the championship trophy and shower the team in streamers and confetti.
General Manager of the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capitals, Lucille Bailie says they would love to see all the team’s supporters at ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ to celebrate their achievements.
“Our supporters are the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capital’s sixth player and the atmosphere they have created at our home games this season has been an integral part of the team’s success.”
ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capitals players, coaches and staff are looking forward to the opportunity to thank supporters in person on Tuesday before they move onto other commitments.
“We’ve all been a part of something truly special over the past six months and the positive impact the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Capitals have continues to ripple through our local community. We’re encouraging everyone that can make it to join us for this final opportunity to acknowledge just how much we value these amazing athletes and people,” said Ms Bailie.
